Surrender. Submission. Obedience. In a world that preaches ‘independence’ and ‘self-reliance’ to its inhabitants, Adrienne Reed has grown to understand that dependence on God and relying on His guidance and understanding is the true way to success, just as described in Proverbs 3:5-6. As she always says, ‘Obedience to God will always put you in the right place, at the right time!’ This is a lesson that took her over thirty years to learn, but once grasped, there was no turning back. As the only child of two God-fearing Bible students, turned teachers, Adrienne Reed had a unique upbringing in the natural and spiritual sense. Both of them were insistent upon her not only learning the Word of God, but retaining the knowledge indefinitely, with neither of them having a clue about just what they were nurturing and developing. God’s plans wouldn’t begin manifesting until decades later.
Adrienne would later graduate from Temple University in 2008, with a BA in Communications. The plan was to utilize this degree for a career in music production, songwriting and singing. However, after years of struggling to get established in this field, and running from the Lord in many other areas, it became obvious that God had a different agenda for her life altogether. On August 10, 2013, she came to terms with this reality by fully submitting herself to Him and His will, rather than her own. In the years to follow, God would take her on a journey of extreme purging, growth and development that could be described as anything, but easy. However, the process would prove to be just what was needed to take her to the next level in Christ. She learned many lessons during this period, including the importance of not fighting God’s development process within you, at the risk of launching out prematurely into your purpose, or aborting your overall destiny. The ultimate lesson learned was to simply submit and endure, until the work within you is complete (Philippians 1:6)!
In 2016, as an act of obedience to the Lord, Adrienne began doing weekly Bible teachings on social media, starting with Facebook and eventually incorporating Periscope. She is the author of the book, The Young Adult Devotional. This book is no longer in print, however, a better and more in-depth version of this project is underway, full of new entries, deeper wisdom and intelligent breakdowns of the Word of God. In a generation that struggles to see the relevance of Christianity, this coming information is the key to successfully living a godly life in a modern world. From the Spring of 2017 to the Fall of 2020, she graduated from and served as a volunteer at the Rivers of Life School of Ministry, under The River Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While seeking the Lord concerning a new permanent church home since the Spring of 2017, Adrienne has grown all the more dependent on the Holy Spirit for guidance. Walking by faith has literally become a lifestyle for her, and Proverbs 3:5-6 holds more significance day by day!
